Hi, I’m Aaron. In 1995 I started going to DIY punk shows as a teenager in Tulsa, Oklahoma, around the same time I got my first job and purchased a VHS-C camcorder. By ’97 I was done with school, out on my own, getting progressively more involved in the music scene and had begun using the camera sporadically to film various local and touring bands that came through. In 2003 I relocated to San Diego, California, where I continued my life on the musical fringes. This time period was different in that not everyone had a video camera in their pocket and without the advent of the various forms of social media we have now, bands were considerably more mysterious. Most of the bands I filmed I was seeing, and often hearing, for the first time! Eventually I accrued a sizeable collection of tapes and am now very happy to share them with you here, along with some of my memories and experiences surrounding them. Many of these events inspired me and influenced my life in ways I can’t properly quantify. I hope you enjoy watching them!
